WAYSCloud Shield
DNS-level threat filtering, email security analysis, DMARC monitoring, and real-time domain risk scoring. Protects your domains from phishing, malware, and DNS-based attacks.
Best for: domain security, email compliance, threat monitoring, brand protection.
What this is
WAYSCloud Shield monitors DNS traffic for your domains and scores every queried domain for risk. It detects malicious domains, phishing attempts, and DNS anomalies in real-time.
Additionally, Shield analyzes email security posture: SPF, DKIM, DMARC configuration, and compliance. It reports on email authentication failures and helps you maintain deliverability.
Shield integrates with DNS Management — if you host your DNS with WAYSCloud, Shield activates automatically for those zones.
When to use it
Use this when
- You want real-time threat detection on your DNS traffic
- You need DMARC monitoring and email authentication reports
- You want to detect phishing domains targeting your brand
- You need domain risk scoring for security automation
Consider something else when
- You need IP-level threat intelligence → IP Intelligence
- You only need DNS hosting without security → DNS Management
- You need a web application firewall → use a dedicated WAF
What you get
- DNS threat filtering: automatic blocking of known malicious domains
- Risk scoring: 0-100 score per queried domain using 7 signal types
- Email security: SPF, DKIM, DMARC analysis and compliance reporting
- DMARC monitoring: aggregate and forensic report processing
- Dashboard: real-time threat feed, risk breakdown, blocked queries
- Alerts: configurable notifications for high-risk events

How it works
- Host your DNS zones with WAYSCloud DNS or point Shield at your existing zones
- Shield monitors all DNS queries for your domains
- Each queried domain is scored using 7 signals: IP reputation, ASN risk, domain age, entropy, feed matches, country risk, and WHOIS data
- High-risk domains are flagged or blocked based on your policy
- Email security is analyzed from DMARC aggregate reports
- Results are visible in the dashboard in real-time
What you see in the dashboard
- Threat overview: blocked queries, risk distribution, top threats today
- DNS insights: query volume, top queried domains, geographic breakdown
- Risk feed: live stream of scored domains with risk level and signals
- Email security: SPF/DKIM/DMARC compliance status per domain
- DMARC reports: aggregate report summaries with sender analysis
- Domain detail: click any domain to see full risk breakdown and signals
Fastest way to get started
Dashboard
- Open my.wayscloud.services → Security → WAYSCloud Shield
- Activate Shield on your plan
- If your DNS is hosted with WAYSCloud, Shield starts monitoring automatically
- View threats and email security in the dashboard
Shield is a dashboard-managed service. There is no separate public API.
Example request and response
WAYSCloud Shield is managed through the dashboard. Threat data and risk scores are displayed in the Shield dashboard.
For programmatic IP threat lookups, use IP Intelligence which provides a public REST API.
