What this is
Climate Insights calculates the estimated energy consumption and CO2 emissions for every WAYSCloud service you use. It tracks compute hours, storage volume, network traffic, and API calls — then converts them to energy and carbon metrics using grid intensity data for each region.
Reports are generated monthly. Data is available per service category: VPS, databases, storage, app platform, DNS, LLM, GPU, IoT, SMS, and more.
This is not carbon offsetting. It is measurement and reporting.

How it works
- WAYSCloud tracks resource usage across all services (compute hours, storage, API calls, bandwidth)
- Usage is mapped to energy consumption using per-service efficiency models
- Energy is converted to CO2 using regional grid intensity data
- Reports are generated on the 1st of each month (cron at 03:30)
- Suggestions are generated based on usage patterns and idle resources

- Total emissions: kg CO2e this month
- Energy consumed: kWh this month
- Per-service breakdown: bar chart showing emissions per category
- Monthly trend: line chart showing month-over-month changes
- Grid intensity: carbon intensity for your primary region

Climate Insights is automatic. It starts tracking as soon as you use any WAYSCloud service.
Example request and response
Climate Insights is a dashboard-only feature. There is no public API.
Data is generated from internal usage telemetry and presented in the dashboard monthly.
